Hello Friends,
We wanted to give you and update from the Yakima Area Arboretum. So much has changed in the last three weeks as the events of the Covid-19 coronavirus have unfolded.
The grounds are still open for your enjoyment, and will remain open unless we are directed to close them. The spring blooms are everywhere and the grounds are beautiful! Please note, the Jewett Interpretive Center and public restroom near the Rose Garden are closed until further notice. Sadly, we don’t have the staff or resources to keep the public restroom open at this time.
If you are coming to get some fresh air and a mental reset, please remember to keep to social distancing guidelines to keep yourself and other’s safe and healthy! If you haven’t already checked it out, we have collaborated with the other local green spaces to provide you with outdoor activity information for youth and families. You can find that information here.
Like so many other organizations, the Arboretum’s administrative staff are working from home at this time. That being said, the best way to reach us is through email at or through our Facebook page since we don’t have regular access to our phones.
Until we can see you all again, stay healthy, enjoy the outdoors at a safe distance from others and give us a wave if you see us!
Sincerely,
Colleen Adams-Schuppe
Executive Director
